Your StruXure pergola is virtually maintenance-free. These are the simple seasonal steps that keep it running beautifully for decades.
March · April · May
Spring
Rinse the frame. Hose down louvers and the frame to clear pollen and winter dust. Mild soap if needed — avoid pressure washing motors.
Clear drainage channels. The most important routine task heading into storm season — make sure water flows freely.
Run the louvers. Open and close a few times. Smooth and quiet is good. Anything stiff or grinding — call us.
Check after hail. A quick visual on the louver blades after any spring storm. Small dents affect how water sheds over time.
Before severe weather, open your louvers — the wind sensor does this automatically. Move any loose furniture out from underneath.
June · July · August
Summer
Monthly rinse. Hose it down once a month and wipe dry — DFW's hard water leaves spots fast.
Trim vegetation. Keep plants at least 18 inches from the frame — summer growth is aggressive and vines can reach motor housings.
Check for wasp nests. A quick look every few weeks from May through October. Remove early-stage nests right away.
Aluminum can reach 150°F+ in direct Texas sun. Do any hands-on work in the early morning or evening — not midday.
September · October · November
Autumn
Clear leaves. A quick clear every week or two during October and November keeps moisture from sitting on the louvers.
Test heaters in September. Before you need them — cold snaps in DFW arrive without much warning.
Check integrated lighting. Confirm everything works before outdoor entertaining picks up in fall.
Once a year, we recommend a professional service visit — motor calibration, hardware check, full inspection. September and October book quickly. Reach out to get on the schedule.
December · January · February
Winter
Before a freeze — close the louvers. When temps are forecast below 35°F, close fully and disable the motor via the app.
If ice forms — let it thaw. No scrapers. Warm water from above or simply wait. Forcing iced louvers is the #1 source of winter damage.
After a freeze — inspect first. Once above 35°F for a couple hours, check louvers and drain channels before resuming normal use.
StruXure is rated for 16–20 inches of wet snow — more than double what the 2021 storm produced. Follow the steps above and you're covered.

Register within 30 days. Warranty isn't valid until registered at struxure.com/submit-warranty. Goodlux helps with this at handoff.
Year 1: fully covered. Parts and labor at no cost. Years 2–15: parts are covered; shipping and reinstall are the owner's responsibility.
All claims go through Goodlux. Don't start any repairs before we've had a chance to inspect — it can void coverage.
Run louvers twice a month. Full open and close — required to keep the motor warranty active.
